I have ts 6 position tuner in my 2000 F350 dually with the 4r100 tranny. It was installed about 2 months ago and most of that time Ive ran it on the 100 horse tune. Until this past weekend I had not really did any hauling since the tuner. When I would start out from a stop sign and give it fuel, the motor winds right up immediately but it takes a while for the tires to catch up. 1st and 2nd are the worst, 3rd sometimes slips and overdrive never slips. All I was hauling was a 10 foot dump trailer with a load of mulch. Now it did do the same thing some before even with an empty truck but I never noticed it much. There are only 105000 miles on the truck and probably only 5 or 6000 on the Amsoil fluid. What advice can you give me? I have some Lucas stop slip at home, would it be worth trying some of that?
At this point you should have set an SES, in which case you'll have set some codes. You need to pull these with a code reader and post them up here or do an Internet search for Ford Codes. This should give you and idea of what's going on. But it does sound to me as though your clutches are pretty much toast. In which case you'll require a full Transmission build. Do you know a Tranny guy that you trust. If so, It would be a good idea to get a diagnoses as well as cost for repairs.
On Edit: Where are you located? There are a few Transmission guy's around the country that we are all very familiar with and trust. BTS in lead Hill Arkansas and John Wood in California are 2 very well known transmission builders for our trucks. They also ship tranny's. They aren't the only 2, but the most renowned for the 4r100. You can also call either of them for advice. Very good folks to deal with.
I have a set of gauges and nothing was bad there. I live in Pennsylvania and there is a local guy that builds pulling and drag racing transmissions and he said he does garuntee his work. I actually had him test drive it a couple months ago with my old edge tuner and he said everything seemed OK still. He said it he said that the tuner fight be affecting the way it shifted but nothing changed when I went to the ts, he offered to put a shift kit in it for a couple hundred bucks. No it doesn't really do it much on stock, there again you don't get much power out of it unless you really stuff your foot into it
