So over the weekend I pulled the injectors on my truck(03 6.0) and cleaned the spool valves new o ring ect because they where sticking. Truck runs much better now the question I had though is the top of the injectors (the plastic part that holds the wires) is red all the pictures I have seen they are black. So could they be after market injectors stock or bigger or is this just a coincidence. I know some one has been in this motor before me because I had to remount the turbo because it only had one bolt in it and the turbo stand had none and the egr cooler hose is blue not orange. Anyone have any ideas or comments on this?
I should have taken pictures but it's the plastic clip so to speak that holds the wires for the spool valve there was a number scratched into the side I want to say it was 115 should have taken pictures
To be honest I might just do that pull one on the drivers side easy to get too might not be this week though have a lot of running to do but will def get pics as soon as I can
I didn't buy them they came in the truck I was just cleaning up the spool valves and put on new o rings so that's what I'm trying to figure out where they came from
Just returned a core that was a red top... Here is the story, only ford has touched the truck before us ... Hummm and he could not ever remember replacing the #5 injector .. truck had 209k on it
