Help

I'm new here and to diesel but I'm having a problem with my 04 f250 6.0. I replaced my brakes rotors and calipers yesterday along with my fuel filters and after I took out my air filter to check it and put it back in my truck will no longer crank. When I put my key in the on position all of my lights and dings happen but I don't hear my fuel pump and when I go to turn it over I get nothing at all. Please help, this is my work truck.

Check fuses to make sure nothing's blown. What is your scanner saying, anything unusual? You can pull codes with the key on and see if that gives any clues.

I checked my fuses, everything seems good there, but I can't get an obd to scan it says failed connection. I found some oily stuff in my pcm so I cleaned it out upside down with brake cleaner after unhooking the battery and let it dry for like 10-12 minutes. Still the same issue but would my pcm need reprogrammed?

I am not sure what your problem is but I would not spray brake cleaner on electronic components. You would need Contact Cleaner. Brake cleaner is a powerful solvent and on circuit cards, there are contacts that may dissolve or lose continuity because of solvents.

Did you spray your PCM prior to trying to crank your truck?

The issue was already there (no crank) so I figured it was worth a shot but could I have lost the programming in my pcm as a result

Also I only sprayed out the wire connector male and female ends. I didn't open the whole thing up. Seeing as it is sealed from the plug in I didn't think it would be necessary.

Yeah, you're probably okay in that case.

I doubt your PCM has become un-programmed; never heard of that happening before. Probably something else is happening, like it not getting the voltage it expects, or it's not seeing enough ICP pressure to fire the injectors. Are your batteries fully charged?

Check the ground cable at the battery. Sometime there is enough connection to turn on the lights but not enough to crank. Happened a few times on my girls focus before I caught it.

First, I am NO authority on diesel.

Check ALL electrical connections that MAY have been disturbed when you did the maintenance work.

I strongly suggest to not spray brake cleaner into any electrical component/connection. I've seen first-hand what it can do to some of the circuit board material. (It was not pretty!)
Think of the Witch from the Wizard of Oz, "I'm melting!!! I'm melting!"

Sorry. Bad impersonation.
