hi all
I just did a simple front pad replacement, new pads and gave them a bleed. now it wont come out of park with key on. first key position, neutral, then start, as soon as it goes into park, wont come back out. air in lines? not sure. then windows wont work, what happened? done many brake jobs and never had this happen. please help
Just a stab in the dark, but check under your brake pedal to make sure that nothing is blocking the safety switch (ie: have to have the brake pressed to shift out of park)
Is there a fuse that may have gotten blown, did wires get pulled, maybe partially unplugged or did the switch get damaged. As always, 1st rule is to go back over what you did, if it was working before you fixed it.
not really sure...I had a mustang that had a broken wire on a switch near the brake pedal and it did exactly what you are discribing
I also had an expedition and a navigator that had 2 loose bolts under the dash that held part of the steering colum..and with those bolts loose...exactly what you describe.
maybe when you pumped up the brakes to bleed them you kicked off that sensor wire?
