just curious what is under the drivers seat that's not under the passenger seat? The floor is raised on the drivers side and not on the passenger side.
what do you have in terms of a vehicle? the full rig & just curious?
R U restoring? Do U have the seats? I'm the one who's curious...

"...on the drivers side..."
ther is usually a switch to change tanks right where the driver would put a hand down between one's legs under the seat at the 'up leg' of the sheet metal from the floor to the plane the seat is mounted on. Depending on the yr there is also a lill evap tank in a triangle by yer hip w/3 plastic lines - several back to the gas tank, etc...
I don't have one yet, I want to start a frame off project, but curious if all E.B.'s are like this, or not. I'm a large guy, 6'5'', 270 lbs, so I'll need to move the seat back and get a tilt steering column. just doing my homework before buying a starter project.
I have seen people modifying the drivers side by lowering floor to passenger side level and mounting seat to new floor pan. This eliminates the ability to run a stock auxiliary tank and will cause issues should you decide to sell. Yes, all EB's have the same floor pan. Bolt in bulkheads were added to half cabs and some sold as utility/delivery vehicles further limiting cab space.
I guess I need to do a little more research. lol I fit in my moms Jeep ok, its a 2011 though, and not as small as they used to be. anyone in the mid ohio valley on here?

To me it's never (started in '83) been a comfortable driver - it's a wrk vehicle (almost said 'truck') that transports one into places another vehicle can't go and a bit of stuff (in bed) or w/a trailer (small). Head room will NEVER be a problem. Foos (spelling?) did a 'chop top' mod & it still had "ten gallon room".
As a rec. vehicle there are some mods both useful & needed. I sit in it as if I was at the kitchen table - again not comfortable. The wolwos, fix it again tonys, and others (arms & legs out -near straight) were much better. I have a '78 FSB tilt column (key's still on the dash) that is a bolt in. It looks oem, it don't telescope etc like the new ones but helps a lill.
U gotta B a youngin (in my opinion, but I'm in the 6th decade) or get an expensive seat & other mods - for it to be a DD. You can't turn a throughbread inta a draft horse or vise versa... remember what a suv was designed for (multi-purpose, not good for 1 thing, poor at several, but willing and able.) That's 1 reason we mod em!
I don't mind a rough ride, hell, I drive an ambulance that was meant to be a heavy rescue, that they stripped down to be a basic transport ambulance. It's light weight, and heavily suspentioned. as for the comfort aspect, I meant can I fit in it without my knees being in the steering wheel, column, or dash, and can I fit side to side in it. I don't mind modifying i t so I can fit in it, as long as it can be done, and I get the results I want.

just incase, Broncohio is a local netwrk on-line for ya.
They been around a good while and have some great
tech resources.
Rough ride is not a problem (that happens off rd by nature), for me it's the seat position. I placed a wolwo seat from my wagon in & that helps. Peddles would have to be reconfigured (for me) if the seat were lowered to pass. side hight.
