Hello. I usually hang out in the 73-79 forum. I picked up a 1970 f250 camper special for cheap and I'm debating what I should do with it. I'm not planning on keeping it. This is not a for sale ad.
-Would you sell it whole, or part it out? I've never parted one out before, so I'm wondering if it's worth the effort?
It depends on what's in demand in your area and the condition of the truck. Especially in rust prone areas. Check out local C/L. Example. I,myself, decided yesterday to part out my 1994 Cougar. For the whole car I'd prolly only get $1000. But between here and C/L I'll sell the complete IRS rear disc brake suspension for $350.00. Plus a lot more off the car. Then scrap the rest.
Parting out a vehicle can be disappointing if you thing it will move fast. I've seen guys do this then got pissed at most guys want for near free. Then once parts are missing it looks like hell sitting in you drive way for months. Then the code enforcement visit you and get sited if it can be seen from the road. Some scrap yards only take if it can be towed. Not want to be dragging with no tires onto a flat bed. You may end up having to pay for to be removed. So what have to gained other then a mess in your yard for way to long..
Or sell in one whole piece and it's going with a few extra bucks.

Washington state. Body is pretty straight. Surface rust in floor pans. No motor. I won't post pics here as I'm not trying to sell anything in this thread. Thanks for the help guys.

The last one I got got restored to road-worthy condition.
Thipdar all of my play funds are going to restoring my three dentside trucks and my vw squareback. I don't need another project. I bought this one to save it from the scrapper.

That makes sense.
In that case, I'd find someone that wants it as a project, and sell it as-is.
I have seen enough guys here from Washington that I am assuming there is a "Washington Chapter". Ya might post something there. And 2X Orich's idea on the C/list. For $400 if I was closer I'd be knockin' on your door!
