Almost back in an Excursion!!!

I am picking up an 05 Excursion in the next day and to be honest I cannot wait! I had an 02' 7.3L and I absolutely loved that truck but it was time to get rid of it when I did.

I know the infamous 6.0L has issues but what are some other things I should look for when I go to check it out. Even though I kind if have my mind made up, if there is something major it will definitely be a deal breaker.

Any and all input is appreciated since I have not kept up on the Excursion much.

I'd at least get a scan tool and look at the temperature difference between coolant and oil while cruising on the hwy. 15 F is the max differential. I'd also look for oil leaks/seepage.

Maybe you can have a pre-purchase inspection at the Ford dealer and get the full read. Might be worth the time and $.

I have an 05, 6.0 and love it.

I already have that scheduled at a Ford dealer so that may ease some nerves and definitely worth the money in the long run.

What would that temperature difference determine? Head gasket?
