'04 E350 has a noise that sounds like brake squealers that happens only when turning hard right and accelerating from a stop. Definitely from driver side front. There is no squeal when brakes are applied, no steering wheel vibration and zero bearing hum. Not a belt squeal nor power steering whine. Ball joints were replaced last September.
Checking here first before inspection; ideas are welcome.
Audible with windows closed. Think brake squeal of a heavy truck stopping at a traffic light. Not a grinding sound or a moan. Disappears when driving straight away.
I was thinking if audible but faint maybe the ABS sensor bracket has come in contact with the rotor?
Maybe lay under the van nearest the offending wheel, have someone turn the steering wheel lock-to-lock. If there's anything rubbing the rotor while turned one direction or another it might present itself visually.
Never had this happen to me or hear (or recall) anyone else here having this same problem---very intriguing.
