replacing a flathead with an fe

Hi everyone! Thanks forthe welcomes. From what i seem to be reading. An FE engine can fit to the same bellhousing of the flathead. I have a 1950 F4 winch truck that I would like to rebuild. It has an 8at v8 in it now. Can some one send me a start and some of the things I need to do to fit a FE to that bellhousing and truck. Thanks Van

An FE will not bolt up to a flathead trans without some kind of an adapter. Also the stock F4 trans will be spur gear, or non synchronized.
An FE with a T18 or such should be a fairly easy swap...
