I'm pretty sure I already know the answer to this but I'm hoping for the best. I just did 4 new ball joints and new tie rods and ends in my '93 F250 4x4. I took it to be aligned today and they got the right side aligned fine. The camber sleeve was froze up on the left side and they couldn't budge it so they couldn't align the camber on the left side. They said they didn't wanna put heat to it because they were afraid it would ruin the new ball joint. So, unless you guys have any other suggestions for freeing up that camber sleeve, I guess I'm getting ready to tear the left side back down so I can get that knuckle off, press the upper ball joint out and put some heat to that camber sleeve. I would REALLY REALLY love to NOT have to do that! LOL
They make a tool to pull it, it's kind of pricey though. You can put some heat on it without hurting the ball joint. If you have a air hammer with a flat bit you can get them out. I would soak it for awhile get it loose then take it back to them for a "waranty" alignment. If the ball joint stud will pass through it, it should come out pretty easily.
Thanks, I'm gonna buy an air hammer anyway. It's about the only air tool that I don't have. The ball joint went through the sleeve just fine. I'll soak it down in parts blaster for a few days and try that.
