on my pickup i figured out my ball joints were bad when i went to get the front end aligned. they told me yeah we can frix them for $360 or so i just laughed and said i can change those. well i was wondering if theres any special tools you need to make it easier or any tips or advise when doing them. i am going to replace all four while im at it so i dont have to do them again. also in my haynes manuel it says that you have to mark something before you take it apart to get it aligned somewhere where it was before. maybe with the upper ones i dont know. any help is good.
IF ITS ONLY A 2WD P/U IT'S PRETTY EASY
AS FAR AS SPECIAL TOOLS ID SAY MAINLY JUST
A PICKLE FORK , A BIG HAMMER AND BALL JOINT PRESS
AS FAR AS MARKING SOMETHING, IT SHOULD BE FOR
YOUR CAMBER BUSHINGS. THEY ARE ON THE UPPERS.
IF YOU GET THEM WRONG IT MESSES UP THE ALIGNMENT,
BUT THAT DOESNT MATTER WHEN YOURE DONE RIGHT,
CAUSE YOU WILL BE TAKING IT BACK TO THE SHOP TO GET IT
ALIGNED
