My bearings are shot in my 9" rear end on my '79. Have posted a request looking for one. I think I am going to upgrade to a limited slip. What are my options and what are the pro's and con's?
I know this will open up a can of worms but it appears the consensus is that the Detroit Trutrac is the preferred setup. Thoughts opinions and other options please.
an LS is a great upgrade for snow/ice driving and would be the best for that weather.
auburn and detroit both make a great LS.
I would rather have an LS in ice or snow. BUT if you spin both wheels on a crowned or otherwise sloped road, you are going to go sideways. An LS with good tires and a judicious hoof on the throttle is a good ticket for ice or snow.
The e locker is electric but now I see they don't have one for a 9 inch.
The arb is the air locker...they have it for the 9 inch.
The ox locker is cable operated but none for the 9 inch.
