But, I agree with Joe, a tailgate that pristine should be on a truck. Maybe he'd take a trade

A friend of mine saved a Mercury one from becomeing a coffee table.He put it on his 54 Merc.

Look on the bright side.....
Our trucks have precious few places to set down a beer without sliding off and hitting the ground.
Someday someone WILL put that back on a truck. A wife or widow will sell that at a yard sale for 10 bucks or it will be nabbed at the dump by a guy for free who know's what it is.

I'm not saying one way or the other, but as nice as that gate is, even if it was a new take off in '54 and hanging in a barn for 60 years, being in upper New York off Lake Ontario, wouldn't it be a little more rusty than that? I know you guys in the east are pretty rough on sheet metal...just a thought.

One good point is if something is spilled on it no chance of anything hitting the floor .

My old dodge truck

I just heard yesterday my old 49 dodge truck is cut lenthwise and hanging on a wall at Chevys resturant. Im going to check it out tonight.

Well I went to the place last night and sure enough its up on the wall. It was in great shape when i sold it. The manager told me the other half is at the other place. Well i can stop looking for that now.
