Two big problems today

First: Steering column

Can't figure out how you remove the whole column with that lever buried inside for the automatic transmission. Of course, the manual has absolutely nothing on this particular subject. The bolts inside, the ones at the rag joint and the one for the trans arm pretty obvious.

Second: Tailgate

Problem here is that I can't get it back on. I cannot recall how I dealt with those two lower hinges. Can't install them in the gate as the gate won't slide straight in. If I try to insert one side and then angle the other side down or up to slip the other hinge in then I run the big risk of damaging new paint. Just spent an hour with my wife and made no headway. Luckily we didn't chip anything which would have meant a repaint.

I don't know what your question is on the column.

As for the tailgate, there is no trick, you just have to be real carefull. But it may be easier with the bumper off.

Mike, You mount one side of the hinge, place the end of the gate over it with the other side raised about a foot, put the hinge piece in the cuff and lower it into place, add bolts.

Arm braces install to truck, with reverse bend connect to tail gate, extend and they should work.

Having a helper is recommended.
