Fell off hoist!
He said it seemed to be taking a long time, he went into the admin area to get a coffee and was promptly ushered out before he could see his truck hanging on the hoist (they have windows behind the admin desks so the customers can see how fabulous they do their jobs).
Once he finally got his truck back they told him there was an incident and seemed to sort of brush it off..he looked and found a dented rocker panel, dented step bar and scratched muffler as well as scrunched trailer lights connector.
Poor guy had to get out to a job and didn't have time to make sure there was no further damages but had intentions of returning to see the manager and make sure it got repaired properly.
I wonder if anyone has input for him on what to look for damage wise as well as any hidden damages we had not considered.
The truck apparently didn't fall right off but slipped off a cleat and dropped hard enough to ding those parts. Friend is now worried it will de-value the truck and he didn't even do anything to wreck it himself!
He said last time he traded in a truck the dealer gave him all sorts of excuses to de-value and would surely pound him for this event next time he traded in?
So, without pics and having not actually seen the damages myself, have you guys got any input to consider for his up-coming meeting with the service manager?
Thx.

other people settle on devalue ratings.
But the simple answer is any accident will devalue a vehicle.
Be that falling off the lift or getting hit.
I also agree that he needs to take it to a body shop that
HE PICKS OUT not on they tell him to take it to.
Please let us know how it works out.
