Thanks... It's on the dealer's hands.... If I had done it, I'm sure it all would have been fine. It's just so much more convenient not having to lay down in the driveway.
Keep us in the loop, RM2738. I'll be happy to step in and do what I can to help; PM me your full name, best daytime phone number, VIN, mileage, and servicing dealership. I'll look into ways to assist.
They called today and said everything is good. A little irritated that I think they're screwing me on the ticket though due to all the extra time. I'll have to review my records, I don't remember fuel filters costing this much.
It's ok though, they let me take a 6.7L Platinum with a full tank of diesel... I MIGHT pickup my truck by Friday.
It's both aggravating and scary to take your truck in to a shop who, by their very association with Ford, should know how to do these things. What's aggravating is most of the time they just don't care. Or they are pushed for time. Sometimes they just absolutely don't know how to properly perform the task and they just try and wing it. I've had several issues with my local dealer that caused me to switch to another one, 35 miles from me, and then I had issues with THAT ONE. It's ridiculous. I hope you get things worked out. Make them take care of it. You drove it in; you should be able to drive it out with only paying for what you asked them to do. Nothing more.
well said! just had this issue here in so.cal!went in for a service I paid for at purchase, after 2 hours I asked for my trucks ETA tech said"truck will be ready in 5 minutes" 20 minutes later i stick my head in the shop and hear them wearing out my 2 NEW BATTERIES! I shouted for them to stop and told the mgr. to get the jumper /charger rolled over to the truck. I asked if the kid was a diesel tech and got a deflective answer and watched a guy from the other side of the building make his way over to my truck. i asked if he was a diesel tech and he said yes ,"is the guy who changed my filter?" well no. I am going to be looking into doing these myself after this visit
Now I'm getting a P2291 DTC. I've read that quite a few people get this code after Fuel Filter change. Also read it could be an HPFP issue. No CEL. Thoughts?
Drivers side battery bit the dust this weekend.... I guess this supports the theory that both batteries should be changed simultaneously or the newer battery will cause the older battery to fail prematurely.

Yeah.... When I had my scheduled maintenance plan, it didn't show on my Oasis in the main screen, so I'd ask for the scheduled maintenance per the owners manual at designated intervals, then after said work was complete, I'd go to checkout and inform them my bill was wrong and I had the plan. They hated that because their pay was based on "ticket in vs ticket out" times not book rates. But it always got done and done fairly quickly. They really hated me wen they did my trans flush & coolant flush. $650 bill zero'd out.
