I have a 2003 f350 v10 just installed Doug thorley tri-y headers w/y pipe,Mac #3960 cold air kit, western motorsports 95mm maf (19lb calibration), and accufab oval throttle body #sctb-9698 I'm running a mbrp 4" exhaust with flowmaster 10 series (1 chamber) muffler, with stock cat.now I'm getting lean bank 1&2 codes. Just got my sct x4 and sent calibration request form waiting to hear back from five star tuning. Had no cel codes previous to mods. Finally my question is...are all these mods surely the result of my sudden lean condition? I've checked all the vaccum lines, pvc hose(mines not the kind under the throttle body it plumbs into passenger side of elbow t/body mounts to,I did find a small vacuum leak at the esof solenoid and replaced it.still getting bank 1&2 lean any ideas? The truck idles fine, drives smooth as silk and no surging. Hoping some five star tunes can richen her up . Yes I did set tps voltage at .98/.99 volts any ideas
My bet is on the MAF/housing being the problem. I would put the stock MAF/housing back on (make sure it is clean with MAF cleaner) and clear the codes. I am assuming the O2s were hooked back up and not damaged during the header install.
I have the Thorleys, K&N kit and full mandrel bent 3" system but use the stock MAF.
Got my custom tunes from five star via email on Thursday just gotta figure out how to load them (im very handy with wrenches but computer & keyboards not so much) gave Mike and his crew my full list of mods so hopefully i'll be rolling cel code free by midweek I forgot to tell them I drive like a little old lady (rarely rev past 2900 rpm) but I'm sure they've worked their magic with the tunes. I do have the original calibration sheet for the 95mm pmas (maf) in case I have any issues and would gladly pay for an extra tune if it's still spits some lean codes. I'll report back as soon as I get the tunes downloaded and installed in the truck. If anyone cares how it turns out. Kudos to Mike and the crew at five star for their excellent customer service and professionalisim
