Need some help again
Oh yea the ac clutch spins now without issue
Having too much airgap will cause the clutch to slip or chatter when the A/C or defroster engaged. I guess it could cause a squeal, but only when it's engaged. I've had other problems arise when messing with belt tensioners. They get weak as time goes on. Make sure the serpentine belt is seated in all the pulleys. (Not a groove off)
Put in a different spacer, less belt squeal figured I could live with that. Tried to do the clutch burn in as per instructions and the clutched started smoking badly with smoke coming in the cab from the vents.Shut her down, let her cool off, pulled clutch cover off, placed the first washer in (bigger caused the most squeal), disconnected ac plug, used electrical tape to tape up the plug and socket.
Fired it up ... little squeal until it warms up, louder squealing as the rpms go up ... almost no squeal (more like chirps) at idle.
All in all I pissed myself off, made the cab smell bad, and traded one annoying noise for another. Oh yea and now I have no ac (didn't have it with the old clutch either)

If I ever get enough saved (I'm guessing close to $1k) I'm just going to take it in and have some smart guy fix the ac for me.
When I get home tomorrow I'll post a follow up with regards to the squealing.

No more squeal, I'm guessing the alignment was just a tad off and it self corrected
The a/c compressor is toast
How do I know? O'Reilly's is awesome that's how
The guy came out and looked at the new burnt clutch, plugged in the plug again and asked to me fire it up and turn on the a/c. Turned it off within seconds due to metal on metal grinding and he explains to me that the clutch tries to engage but keeps slipping. So he tells me to loosen the belt, take it off the compressor, and use my socket to try to turn the compressor. It of course does not turn. He was as surprised about the po replacing the compressor but not the clutch and called the guys who actually did it "stupid fu**ing idiots"

He told me that if I bought a compressor from them, he'd refund the clutch which was really nice of him. All I gotta do now is try to work a deal on price for the r and r and a/c recharge. Oh yea and come up with the money for the new compressor.
Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
If you have factory A/C, you should have an FS10 style compressor. Depending on the make and year of your compressor, there were some that had teflon coated internal parts that would come off and pollute the system and cause compressor failure. The Ford Explorer is infamous for them (factory models) and some aftermarket companies had new and reman compressors as well with the same problem. You will know by looking at the orifice tube and it will be covered in black "sludge" like goop.
If you don't have A/C tools, any good mechanic shop can do it. Down here in SW Florida, A/C is a MUST!!
