A/C Clutch Replacement

I need to replace the A/C compressor clutch on my 93 Bronco and I've never done this before. The clutch kit comes with both sides of the clutch as well as a kind of plate and a bag with a snap ring and some fasteners. I borrowed a bunch of A/C tools from Autozone. None of my manuals tell you how to do this job. If anyone out there knows how to do this, I'd appreciate a play-by-play. Thanks.

A/C Clutch Replacement

Assuming you have the proper clutch removal tools and have the compressor in a serviceable position then here goes.

This will take you down to the bare compressor, you many not need to go that far. - installation is reverse.

Remove the bolt in the center of the clutch using the clutch holding tool.

Thread 8 x 1.25 mm bolt into the A/C clutch to forec it from the compressor shaft.

Lfit the A/C clutch and clutch hub spaces from the compressor shaft.

Remove the pulley snap ring.

Remove the pully

Using a suitable puller remove the A/C clutch field coil.

- I found this in a Ford Service manual, not for your vechicle but hopeully it will be close enough.
