I have a 93 F250 7.3 idi, 320k, here's whats going on :
If you're at mid throttle and you take your foot off the pedal too quickly, the RPMs will dip down too low and the truck will stall. I've already tried replacing the fuel filter, and replacing fuel lines, lift pump is relatively new. It seems like i'm getting good overall fuel pressure, as i can easily hit 75 mph and climb hills. Also some difficulty starting. O and i'm running WVO on this truck ! But this happens just running straight diesel too. My veg is clean and it gets hot enough., has its own filter pathway etc.... What are some things to look at ? IP ? Injectors? Timing ? Thanks.
It could be that your idle speed is just set too low. There's an adjusting screw for that on the IP, close to where the throttle linkage connects. I would suggest turning it up a little to get a proper idle speed. If the problem remains then try treating it with diesel kleen or the fuel additive of your choice. For the strongest treatment, drive home, shut down, remove fuel filter and drain it, fill it with additive, fire it up for like 15 seconds, then shut down and let it sit overnight. Then drive like hell the next day.
