We are in the home stretch of my rebuild. The color I have chosen is "Plymouth Prowler Orange Pear". Wanted to get the pant from PPG, was quoted 245.00 a quart. Does that sound about right…. thought it would be a little cheaper than that.

Probably......anything with pearl in it is usually more. Is it a tri coat like Radiance, etc? The price of paint seems to go up daily. I've been a "jobber" for many years and still can't get a price break on paint over the counter.....
Dunno how much you need, but it's usually much cheaper if you buy a gallon.

High solid colors like reds and oranges are very expensive, sounds about right to me.

I do not use PPG any longer, the prices have gone nuts. House of Kolor used to be the high-dollar kid on the block and now they are the bargain. I pay about $100/qt for Simirin pearl basecoats (PBC). Take a look here and see if you can't match your desired color to one of the samples... House of Kolor Speedshapes - Preperation & Undercoat
