1996 F150 issues...
I'm working on a '96 F150 4x2 with a 302/E4OD in it. Truck came in with an occasional miss/valve train rattling on revving/acceleration. This was all after the distributor was replaced. Checked timing VIA a light, it's dead on at 10+ and not moving. Truck has 290k so we're not expecting miracles, although it seems to have a solid short block and being a 302, there's no telling. Tried to connect to the ALDL, but the scanner won't communicate with it because it's only got 7-8 VDC at pin 16, even when the truck is running. CEL bulb is burnt out so we don't even know if it's on or not. Going to pull plug wires one at a time to try to isolate cylinder that has the issue, and possibly pull valve covers to check valvetrain for loose components/failure.
