48 F-1 Sun Visor Dimensions
Can anyone do a couple of quick measurements on their completed truck and let me know the height & width of the original sun visors on a 48 Ford F-1 pickup? I presume they're pretty much standard across most years and models but am hoping to attach to the sun visor an illuminated vanity mirror on the passenger's side since my wife would appreciate that. I'm thinking that the standard/stock mirror from the passenger's sun visor on a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee would work fine. I'm not sure yet how that mirror attached to the visor. However but I'm thinking that almost any method of attaching the mirror to the passenger's side sun visor will work. That's because I'm having the sun visors re-covered with the same upholstery material that we'll use for the seats (also 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee power bucket seats) and the rest of the interior.
Any thoughts or other ideas on this topic would of course be also welcome.
Photos of the project as it stands today are attached. Doors just went back on, seats are bolted in and new glass is being installed in the cab. It's going to the upholster shop probably the week of April 14 with front clip (fenders, grille, hood, etc) and box and rear fenders to follow. It moves under it's own power (350 small block Chevy, automatic transmission and rear end from '75 Camaro). Front cllip/suspension is also '75 Camaro. So far it's coming together very nicely and I couldn't be happier with the outcome.
Best to all you Fat Fendered Ford guys.
