Thanks!! I couldn't believe how nice it was when I first laid eyes on it. Previous owner didn't have any idea what a gem he was holding... Just knew he hated the look of a bedcap

I've owned 3 and have looked at several others and yours is the nicest I've ever seen. You can definitely tell it was garaged it's entire life. The paint, inside stickers, and the compass emblems appear to be in perfect condition. Awesome find!!

Dang that is a nice score. And a great price for it. I have one for my truck, but just like my truck it needs TLC. Does your truck have all of the added bracing that is mentioned on the sticker? That stuff can be hard to find. About the easiest parts to find are the upper and lower windshield retainers. And maybe the center hood stop. Other wise that stuff can be even harder to find than the topper itself. I just can't believe how nice of shape that is in. It's like brand new.

OP has a 1977 F250.

Sticker says these parts only apply to F100/350's assembled from September 1, 1977, which would be 1978/79's only.

btw: Those are ID engineering numbers on the sticker, they are not the actual Ford part numbers.

Oh I didn't catch that Bill. I went by his pictures and the truck has the 78/9 grille assy. I know they interchange but I assumed the truck was a 78/9. That's why I posted that.

Below the OP's user name is: 1977 Ford F-250.. so I'm assumed that's what this truck is.

Yeah I saw that too after you corrected me. But also the trucks badging says it is a Lariat. Didn't the Lariat first become available in 78 as well?

Lariat introduced in 1978, so maybe he owns more than one of these trucks.

People that own more than one should list them as a signature.

Bill I was wondering if you would be able to give me the part number of the rear step bumper that is on this truck. I need to replace the one on my truck and would like to put either style chrome rear step bumper on it. Or the same as the one in the pic that is painted. Thanks if you can help. And sorry to the OP for the hijack.

Very good catch guys!! The truck in the picture is not my 77 f250. Its my older brothers f350 and we used that to go pick up the cap.

My '77 is in the shop getting painted as we speak.

I'm now stuck with an awesome dilemma... Two weeks ago I came across a set of bedrails that are in excellent condition for our year trucks. Do i put on the bedrails or this cap? I was originally going the route of the bedrails without a second thought but unexpectedly learned that this cap was for sale and had to have it after seeing the condition!

I think the cap looks really good on the f350 and my wife thinks the bedcaps belong to serial killers .

i love the white and blue look on the f350 and am leaning towards the bedrails on mine. Mine is a 2wd copper metallic/indio two tone.. so we'll see.

Since my f250 will have fresh paint, it will be a few months before I put anything on it.

decisions decisions!

Easy solution is to buy the 350 from your brother and leave the cap in place. Then install the bed rails onto the 250. Hehehe

Nice score on the topper. They are a rare gem in any condition. And in that
un-circulated condition even rarer yet. The guy ya got that from could well
have made another $1000.00 with it on E-Bay (or more) I would think.

Would you agree or not Bill?
