I tried a search but not sure I found exactly what I was after.
Here we go.
We are putting in new I-beam bushings in the sons 79. The wore out ones came out with ease.
Here is were we slow down, I currently do not have access to air and everything is being done by hand.
We stared to press the new bushings in with my vice, this only got us so far. The bushings are in, but I would only say s little over half way.
Are there any tricks to getting them pressed in further?
For future reference when replacing bushings, put them in the freezer and keep them there until you are ready for installation. They wont just fall in but are much easier to install.
gatorfor88, we actually did use the freezer trick. I was explaining to my son how that worked.
I don't know why I did not think of making a mini "c" channel. I have plenty of scrap steel lying around.
Thanks guys
