I finally got my 89 150 on the road yesterday.
The clutch feels a little soft and the book I have (chilton) mentions nothing about adjustments or bleeding the line.
Also, where the hydualic line connects to the case, the fitting wiggles.
Is that normal? At first glance I didn't see any way to snug it up.
Don't worry about the fitting as long as it doesn't leak. It just snaps in there so, yeah, it may wiggle a bit. There should be a bleeder fitting next to where the fitting goes in, tho.

Jas88. I don't see the bleeder on my 91, do I need to pull the bell housing to get at it?
a easier way and cheaper/cleaner is to park the truck nose high on a STEEP hill/ incline.
remove your master cylinder cap, remove the rubber boot insert and replace cap. let it sit for a day and it will gravity bleed itself.
naturally the air wants to come out.
do not drive the truck without the rubber insert though. we have a steep driveway hill at my uncles and we bleed all of ours this way. SUPER EASY!!!!!!

no wasting a bunch of fluid either!!!!
Thanks much! Living in Florida, (flat land), that may be a challenge. I have tire ramps but I don't think they will be high enough. I will try though.
That is it.... and my slave is leaking... ugh... so is the best way to do this to drop the transmission completely and change it out? I've never changed a clutch, how much work is that once the transmission is down? Thanks for the picture that helped.
