#3 uplifter wired?

I was messing around the truck getting ready to do the high idle mod and found the #3 uplifter is wired to something-looks to be a factory connector--but have no idea where to begin to figure out what it goes to. The uplifters are factory and has the factory brake control right beside the uplifters. Any idea's on where to start to find out what this switch is wired to?

Anything that was wired in by original owner would be where to look, trace the wires, backup lights, iPod charger, previous high idle are all possibilities....

I may be wrong but I believe that in stock form the mirrors turn on automatically for a while when the truck is first started. Someone may have hooked them to a switch so they could turn them off, because why do you need heated mirrors in months like July.

True too. Would have figured there would be an indication like when they were on but I havent seen anything yet? Whatever the uplifter is hooked to is cab forward best I can tell so far.

On my 04 the heated mirrors turn on when ever the defroster is on. Some guys would wire power to an up-fitter switch to turn them off when wanted.

They come on when you start the truck. I have mine hooked to the switch so I can turn them on only when I need to. I got tired of my mirrors being covered in water spots in the summer.

You can simply pull fuse #39 (05 and up trucks) to disable the heated mirrors in the summer time, or install a switch.

Or you can pull fuse #9 like I did and replace it when it turns cold again.
