Upfitters
So I just installed upfitters in my truck and now I have a question. I dont like forum searches because my exact questions never really get answered. I want to do high idle via pto on #4, and high idle via BCP on #3 (for boosting semis or other reasons) I also want to put heated mirrors on #2, but would I have to downsize the fuse to do this? or is running small loads like heated mirrors or a high idle on the heavy switches ok?

The amp ratings on the upfitter switch circuits are a "do not exceed" number, much like a speed limit. You can put a 5 amp load on a 30 amp switch, but if a switch with a smaller rating is available it makes more sense to use it instead. Save your high current circuits for the bigger loads.

The heated mirrors are always on up until 2008...
in 2008 they are controlled by a pushbutton, then remain on for 10 minutes or until you push the button again... (I wish they'd just stay on until you turned them off)
I'm not sure how they did 09-13, but I know they changed it somehow.
