Don't know anout that set of mirrors, but the ones that came with my 04 are turned on by switch. I don't think you would want to leave something like that on all the time.

Can't say about aftermarket mirrors, but the factory ones that Dodge uses is activated by a switch and turns themselves off after so many minutes (or you can manually hit the switch again).

Gotta say, that's the one feature I miss from my Dodge that I wish my Superduty had.

My 04 F250 has heated mirrors and I believe they are on all the time or on only when in heat/defrost. I will check the manual and let you know.

Sorry it to so long. The manual says the mirrors heat up when ever you start the truck. There is no way to turn it off.
I hope this helps.

That's surprising. I think they are a fairly big draw to be on constantly (mine are fused at 10 amps). Seems a waste, particularly in Houston.

Most every vehicle I have seen has them switched on with the rear defogger. A few have had a separate switch. I think I would put them on a separate switch with a timer if possible.

I agree. If they are supposed to wire directly to always be hot, it shouldn't be a big deal to put a separate switch in line I wouldn't think. No need for them to always be on I wouldn't think.
