Hey guys its been awhile since ive been on here but was wondering if you could help me out im changing brakes and rotors on my 79 bronco and it requires a spindle locknut socket and I cant seem to find the size of it ive been to partsource they have 1 of 3 they sell its 2 3/8 would that be the right one? Nothing online says size that I can see
Dana 60 should be a 2 9/16 round Hex socket.
Don't quote me but I think the pre 80's had D60's and 80's went to an IFS D44
No Bronco of any year came with a Dana 60 front driving axle. 1966/79 Bronco's came with Dana 44 front driving axles as did 1959/76 F100 4WD's and 1975/79 F150 4WD's.
All F100/150's & Bronco's have 5 lug wheels on a 5.50" bolt circle. Dana 60's use 8 lug wheels on a 6.50" bolt circle.
1975/79 F250 4WD's were available with a Dana 60 front driving axle, it was standard equipment with the snow-fighter package in 1978/79 F250 4WD's.
1979 F350 4WD's came with Dana 60's front and rear.

Thanks ND,
Can we confirm for OP the spindle locknut size?
With the60 error, I had in my head what alot of guys swapped to back in the day. Then I walked out to the man cave and looked at the axles i have under the bench and realized they were 44's. Again, my bad
I have a couple home made ones, the four prong made with key stock on pipe and the hex made with 1/8 x 1 flat bar bent around to form socket. Those are generally not that tight so home made stuff works fine.
