i have 91 f250 with a 460 i'm putting a c6 tranny in. from the info I've gathered (please correct me if i'm wrong) i have to mess with the neutral switch and just run some vacuum lines and make a shift linkage, other than that it should work as far as computer and what not goes.
now ive talked to a few guys that work on trannys and they all say it "should" would but it might run(or not run cant remember) in a loop circuit and throw every tranny code and mess with the efi or something.
in previous threads ive read people just put the mlps in neutral and zip tie it up somewhere, but no one ever posted a reply on whether or not that actually worked.
is there anything im missing here or is that pretty much all that is required?
also i know drive shafts and all are different so that is something i can have taken care of as soon as i figure out whether or not this tranny will work on my setup.
It should work as long as you got vacuum to modulator valve and you would have to install kickdown linkage possibly change shift linkage .I guess finding a 89 or 90 parts truck with a c6 in it would be great .In 89 and 90 you could still special order a c6 trans behind a 460

You could get one in 94 also. I have one I'm stripping for parts for my 89.
I just swaped from a E4OD to a 5spd in my 95 and i replace the wireing harness to the transmisssion and if its like the 95s they plug-in in the same spot and you can use the netural safety thats built into the trans. I did the swap and used a 5spd harness and it had the netural jumper built into the harness. I havent had any problems with mine computer wise sence I did the swap
