Does anyone know where the Air Temp sensor is on a 2000 Ford Explorer 4.0 OHV engine? Thanks

Not sure about a 2000 but on my 95 4.0L OV E.B. the air intake temperature sensor is plugged into the rubber air intake tube, about 1/2 way between the air cleaner and the throttle body, with a 2 wire electrical connector.

I also have a 2000. Some fords also install it into the intake manifold but I can't locate it on there either. I was wondering if they built it into the MAF sensor.

 

I think it is part of the MAF sensor also but I am not sure. I know it is no longer installed in the rubber air intake tube. That is where I was originally looking for it.

Try a search on the air temp sensor. Here's a link to another forum which has lots of info. Also, the CD manuals available these days are very good .... got mine on Ebay.
