351W: Which fuel pump???
.I have a '77 F150 4X4 that has a transplanted 351W in it. The Windsor block was in there when I purchased the truck thirteen years ago. Anywho, I'm going through the whole fuel system from tank to carb and have made it to the fuel pump. Checked online at JBG and there are two listed for the same Windsor. I looked at the 80's models figuring that'd be a good place to start for Windsor stuff.
One pump is listed for '80-'87 with a GVW less than 8,500 lbs. The other is for '85-'87 with GVW more than 8,500 lbs. I know my little short bed half ton is under the 8,500 lb. mark, but was wondering what the difference in the pumps are??? I ain't gotta clue what the engine actually came out of.
I'm installing an Edelbrock dual plane intake with 1406 carb, a new Edelbrock "RV" style cam and headers. With those installed, would I benefit from the higher GVW pump?
Probably a dumb question but I'm clueless as to what the difference between the two pumps is. Same price, too. Part numbers are 30235 and 30235A.
I appreciate whatever insight y'all can provide.
I forgot to mention in the original post that the stock intake is on the engine and it's a 4V. My initial worry was that there was a different gph flow for the higher cfm carb when compared to a 2V. I dismissed that thought pretty quick and just went with the same as you suggested. Thanks.
