2007 E-250 two electrical gremlins.
I thought it was my switch so I unplugged it and plugged it in, and pushed the plunger on the switch a couple times but nothing changed, still no indicator light.
In can't seem to find anything listed in the fuse diagram in my owners manual for this light nor did I find any fuses popped while checking them all with a meter so I'm assuming the switch is bad.
I cannot check resistance because my fuse is blown in my fluke meter from letting someone borrow it not knowing what they were doing.....not that I'm the greatest either.lol.
Second problem:
My check paycheck (engine) light has been on for the last couple days and my actron scanner has not been able to communicate with my obdII diagnostic port under the dash.
No drive ability problems, runs fine other than a thump under hood from some sort of actuator after I start the vehicle or leave the key on for a few seconds.
Again, I can't find any fuses for this listed in the darn fuse list in the owners manual.
Also I don't have any other electrical issues or things not working.
Both the cigarette lighter and the power outlet it the dash work.
I am getting power to one wire on my obd II connector but my scan tool won't work which I tried on another vehicle ( jeep) and it works fine on the jeep.
Sure could use someone to steer me in the right direction,
Thanks.
On your scanner problem check to see if your van has the CAN buss protocol. If it does and your scanner is not CAN compatible, it won't work.
Makes sense about the can bus capable tester but not sure if mine has can bus communication, probably not.
How do I find out if my van requires can compatible tester?
I think my bro in law has a tester that can do all that stuff on foreign and domestic vehicles so I will hit him up, thanks for the info!
