Hey guys. Looking at a 4 inch lift for my 2004 f250 CCSB. I've been reading for the past few days. And everyone has opinions. Can some please help me out with a do and don't list for the lift. I kno not to use blocks but what springs do I use in the rear. And just a break down of everything I need to make sure I replace or have with the lift. Thanks guys
no reason not to use blocks, they come with them from the factory. just make sure you get flat 0* blocks for your CCSB and don't stack them. you could do some 4" front springs and 5" rear blocks. also going to need drop pitman arm and drop track bar bracket, along with some other miscellaneous parts
So u don't see a problem with blocks? All I ever see on here is people posting about not using blocks due to axle wrap. But ur saying use no factory blocks and get 5 inch blocks
That's what I have. You'll get some axle wrap if it's a diesel but no big deal. F350s come with a factory 4" block so its only another inch. They are just saying do not stack them
Like acf6 said, they all come with rear blocks new. When you install the kit depending on the type you use, you will replace the rear springs or install an extra leaf in the existing springs while re using the factory block either way. The 250's usually have the smaller block I believe 2" while the 350 has a taller one 4". It's important that whoever you purchase the lift from knows what size block you have so the rear of the truck will be the right ride height. My lift required me to replace my 2" with the 4" for the correct height.
I recently bought my son a 99 F250 4x4 Lariat CCSB, I have decided on a 4" lift and 33's or 35's. I have read until my eyes crossed. What I have decided on due to cost and the fact I'm sure there is some front spring sag from age is a Zone 4" kit with new arched/stacked leaf springs for the front blocks for the back and new shocks all around. http://www.ebay.com/itm/ZONE-4-SUSPENSION-LIFT-KIT-FORD-F250-F350-SUPERDUTY-99-04-DIESEL-GAS-7-3L-6-0L-/390807472705?_trksid=p2054897.l4275
Not affiliated with the seller just a decent picture and description.
Are you looking for bigger tires? Does your truck have the plow prep package (stiffer front springs)? Mine does and when I did a leveling kit (2.5" lift) it is almost equivalent to another member on here that did a 4" lift with new front springs just because my front springs were already taller than usual.
That's what I have. You'll get some axle wrap if it's a diesel but no big deal. F350s come with a factory 4" block so its only another inch. They are just saying do not stack them
We had a customer come in that stacked three blocks on top of one another, all different sizes...... I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw it
I have my factory and 5" blocks stacked, I wasn't a fan when I found out the installer did that but it was the only way to keep the rear end from sitting 2" lower than the front. The springs have now settled though so I'm going to pull the factory blocks to make it level and only have one block...which makes me less concerned lol.
I would only advise against stacking (never stack more than 1 IMO) if your going to do a lot of towing and off-roading. Since mine was done in August I knew winter was coming so I wasn't going to be doing much anyway so I left it until this summer.
