Can someone tell me why no one is selling lifting blocks for front leaf springs......... Can't it work ?.......... why do you have to change the springs to get more height in the front and just stick blocks in the rear to raise it.............. I have a 1995 F250 extended cab PSD with a solid front axle 4WD...... looks to me like blocks will do the trick....... dont need any axle pivot brackets either......... just a pitman arm upgrade..... Can anyone tell me if there would be a problem with this idea ??........ Just wanna make sure I'm not missing something.
front lift block are dangerous and illegal in many states. dangerous being.....what if a front lift block broke while you were driving down the freeway at 70+mph.you would lose the steerability of the front tires.........bad, bad, very bad news. so to cover their backside lift manufacturers dont market lift blocks for front springs.
At the Bloosburg 2001 jambo some turkey in a brand-new Excursion was tooling around the grounds showing off his new ride with no lie-14" front and rear matching lift blocks!!!! not to mention the butt-welded steering linkage.

I asked this same question once many years ago and the guy looked at me as though I had just referred to his mother as not formally introduced to his father. No shop I have ever heard of will put blocks in and all I have ever heard is how dangerous they are. I have to agree with the above post that there is torsion and torque and other factors involved in the front that could cause catastrophic results should they fail.
Well I certainly agree with you guys, running with 12" inch blocks up front has gotta be downright stupid............ but c'mon now just how much danger can 2 to 3" blocks pose on the front end ??
Has anyone ever tried removing their existing worn leaf springs from the front (or rear) end, putting them into a heavy press and pressing them back into correct curvature, or even a more tight curve? You might need to apply heat to soften the metal.......This is just a theory Im considering trying .......... just wanna hear from you guys about what a dumb idea this might be and why ?
heating and bending will breakdown the metal, and it will become weaker... if you wanna go that route, go with leaf springs that are made at more of a curve....
If you heat any metal up it loses its temper and that causes drastic loss of tensile strength and durability. Add a leafs or new springs are the way to go.
using lift blocks, from what i hear, is the only suspension alteration ILLEGAL IN ALL 50 STATES....while some states have altered suspension rules....i believe lift blocks in the front is 100% illegal in all states. i have red-neck friends who rig up the trucks all the time the cheapo ways, and they will not even fathem front lift blocks.
