What if an injector wasn't connected?

Just put glow plugs in 2001 7.3L . What would happen if you (I) forgot to connect one of the injectors? (Installed new gaskets as well.)
Run at all?
Slight vibration?
Spew white smoke?

The dead hole won't smoke. You can confirm if you connected it or not: The 42-pin connector over the driver-side VC goes to the injectors through all the connections. D+ = Driver Common to all even-numbered injectors. Break out the ohm meter.

What should the ohm meter read? We just looking for continuity?
What if the valve cover harness connector(s) came loose? I read that this is a common problem with the powersmoke. (50 cent mod & all)
What code would come up?

If you have an IR gun you can also check the exhaust port

I think the target for injectors is 3.5-6 ohms or so.
If a code comes up I think it'll be "Injector High Side Open Bank 1 (or 2)"
Passenger side = Bank 1, Drivers side = Bank 2. Can't quite remember the codes but a quick google search shows P1293.

I think you'll have to do a KOEO or buzz test to retrieve this from the IDM.
