Oil leaking by radiator????

I'm in need of some input again. I have a 85' F350 7.5l manual. I'm noticing a small drip of oil leaking near my radiator. I did it quick search, and it looks like 2 hoses/lines going in front of the radiator to the engine. The oil is running down these hoses. It was only a quick search, so not exactly sure where they are going. It looks like it goes to a transmission cooler, but I have a manual transmission. So I won't have a trans cooler, correct? Anybody have any ideas where/what this is coming from?

The picture shows (hopefully) the gap between my radiator and grill. The "cooler" is in between there.

Sounds like an oil cooler for a towing package. It would not surprise me, as this is the same location as the secondary transmission coolers on F250's. I am guessing if you follow those lines, they will wind up connection to the engine somewhere. Now for the leak: the best time to address this is during an oil change, simply because you will be draining the engine. A couple of possibilities come to mind: a crack in your oil cooler, a fitting not sealing, or something amis with the feed and return lines. Thoroughly clean and inspect the area to verify where the drip is. Thread tape the fittings per instructions on thread tape package. If the cooler is cracked, replace it. If the fittings look damaged, replace them ASAP. If it looks like the lines, it's going to be irritating remaking them.

That would explain it. It's a tow truck. To replace the oil cooler, would I have to remove the grill, and go thru the front? Or remove the radiator, and go thru the back?

Depends on if you have an A/C condenser in front. Without one, it is easier from the front. With one, and depending on exact mounting location, you will have to make the call to remove either the condenser or the radiator. Take proper safety precautions either way. My trans cooler was between the two, slightly above the condenser. Due to the PO removing most the AC, I elected to remove the condenser for better airflow to the radiator and trans cooler.
