I recently purchased a 46? Ford Panel truck. Serial on frame is *799C<->1984353. even clean the 799 is barely readable. Anyone have a clue to this number so I can title the truck. Thanks in advance.
That is the VIN number. 799C is 1947 commercial. The different body styles did not get broken out with their own identifying number. You have what you need to get a title.
Thanks, Hoping to have finished in less than 6 months. Lots to do, and buy.
Plan to keep very original-ish. Only upgrades will be brakes/rear axle, 4 wheel disc, and tranny 5 speed manual. Keeping the Flathead 8.
Would add a photo if knew how..lol
Rather than post a new thread I thought I would ask here. My trucks VIN# starts 699T. The #'s on the frame and the glove box plate match. The model # from the plate is 694T.
My chassis manual says a 694T is a school bus with 194" wheelbase. However, my trucks wheelbase is 134". I'm confused????
