THE NEW SPRING 2014 CHAT
But actually next project after getting this explorer running and driving is doing the clip swap from the parts truck to the 84 B2 then I have to rattle can the clip and doors again. LOL
After that plan is to pull the heads off the 302 I got from my buddy see how it looks in their. If good put new headgaskets, new oil pump, new water pump and drop into my F150.
After that plan is to pull the 460 from the 89 F350 put new oil pump and water pump on it and drop into the 91 F250.
probably going to part out the 89 F350 since I really don't think I am going to end up fixing it.
All this is inbetween school work, the house, closing on the property next door, and installing some small parts on all the trucks. But the 85 Chevy van should be leaving here soon going to be trading it for a little tractor that we can use to move things around the yard, beat up, pull engines with and stuff like that. Just waiting for the guy to finish up which he said shouldn't be to much longer if his wife stops putting things on his to do list. LOL

Pic of the Explorer with the B2:

The wheels I will be putting on it once I get some tires:
I really like that Explorer. Those were great SUVs I owned a New 1992 Eddie Bauer edition.
We were there for a while... will be back next week with my 66 f100, you will know it's my truck because the hood will be flipped forward
last night we took the 65 Beetle
We saw your beetle. Very nice. I have a soft spot for type 1's. we will try to come out next week again. Looking forward to seeing your f100 and meeting you.

Here is a couple of pictures.
Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
Speaking of taxes, we finally got out return last week.

My elderly neighbors passed this past year, Mom first then the father 6 months later, The kids have been slowly working on cleaning up the house and they had their Mom's van just sitting there for months, they asked me if I knew anyone that wanted one, I told them I might if the price was right, They wanted 3grand for it, I offered them 2 and they took it. We got it Thursday night. It will serve as a second family ride till I have my work truck back up and I can swap all my stuff back out of my Dodge. That is the plan anyway.... I can see us keeping it till it dies though, I think Momma likes it, not for long road trips, but for just short trips around town, I can see it taking a lot of wear off the Excursion, since that is what she drives all the time.

It is a 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan Sport. 3.3 automatic.
It has some character spots on the exterior, but the interior and mechanically it is pretty clean throughout. I was looking through the big folder that was in the under seat drawer, it has all the maintenance records for it, including the original dealer window sticker.... I found out the tires are less then 2 years old, and have Discount tire warranty certs
they are mileage warrantied for 85000 miles too, they have less then 10 k on them.If only it wasn't a minivan...
Good morning Tim, I'm not talking abut taxes after what we had to pay.
I was going to leave them chrome. I thought about painting the Ram head black.
But it is going back to Ash Fork next weekend so most likely they will stay as they are.
The reason any of this happened was I wanted the aftermarket wheels off because the offsets were not right & the steering proved it. The 99 2500 4x4 was the last year of the steel 6.5" rims. Then they went to 8" aluminum. I wanted the stock offsets but hated the looks of the stock wheel in chrome. So I found these for $60 ea from a wheel place in Lawton OK. I think the black power coat looks much better than the chrome. I remembered I had a set of stock caps so Trav thought I should run them so here it is.
Craig, I like the chrome caps just as they are...in case you're gathering votes.

Between working both weekend mornings, riding the horse, showering, and napping, I got very little else done. And that's ok!
Kiddo spent Sat afternoon-yesterday afternoon with my mom; they swam, played Monopoly, and saw the movie Rio 2 yesterday. I'm glad they can see each other as much as they want.
Well some what met our goal. Got the engine out of the parts truck after stripping it down to just the chassis. Took the engine out of the explorer. Dropped the engine in got everything pretty much mated and found out 2 things are different. 1 the explorer has 2 02 sensors the donor has 1 harness for 1 02 sensor. number 2 is the main hook up for the wiring the second one is round on the donor engine. The explorer is square. so I have to take all the wiring out of the explorer's old engine and put it on the new engine it should work their is no other diffrences then that. In order to do that I have to pull the top intake manifold so we will be doing that soon.
We had both engines, the cab, front clip, and more off in one day (Saturday)
Hardest part was I had to move back the transmission to get the engine in because the radiator support is part of the body.
Craig thanks for the compliment on it I like it to. It is one of the first Suvs that personally I like and when I sit in it wearing my cowboy hat it doesn't hit the roof.
