Hi guys,
I have an 86 F-350 leaf sprung 4x4 and it has been lifted but the springs are warped because the Diff needs to be dropped correct? I love the high look and want to keep it fairly standard although would a solid axle be hard to fit? Has anyone dropped their Dana 50 Ttb with brackets and if so, where can I get these? Scott, Australia.
You guys have some weird stuff over there. 351 cleveland and six cylinder diesel engines, and now a 86 f350 with a dana 50 ttb? Over here that would have come stock with a straight axle.
A straight axle(dana 60) can be bolted in, like I said it was standard over here starting in 85.5 on f350's. You can also buy dana 50 ttb drop brackets, but I forget which company sells them separately. You might want to consider starting over and getting a complete kit. It will also come with a dropped pitman arm and longer shocks, which you will need also.
We do have some odd stuff down here. I wish it were the same from USA to AUS. I've emailed SKYE about a drop kit and I'll hope for the best! Cheers guys.
