7.3PSD stall problem

Hello all....I have a 2000 Ford F350 with the 7.3L PSD. I have had a bit of an "issue" with the truck stalling on acceleration and then firing right back up (as it's in gear with the key turned on, etc.).

This has now happened 3 times. Basically, the first two were heading down the highway. In the first instance the truck basically just stalled as I was starting to accelerate a bit (was traveling below speed limit and was looking to accelerate up to 55 mph). The 2nd time I was passing another vehicle. I had just gotten into the passing lane, started to accelerate as you normally would when passing, and the truck stalled again.

It just happened to me a third time a bit ago. This time I was simply stopped at a stop sign, started to accelerate away and the truck stalled (was going about 15-20 mph when it happened)

Every time it has immediately started running again, as it's in gear with the key on (I did not stop, put it in park, turn the ignition, etc.).

This has happened 3 times over the course of 3 months. The truck has been driven plenty in that time (it is not a daily driver) with no issues or stalling.

This obviously isn't normal. Looking for possibilities here.

At no time did it sputter first, sputter during, or even after. It was running as smoothly as it normall does and then BOOM...stall...then it comes right back on by itself...and drives normally and smoothly from there.

by stall do you mean the rmps drop low then jump up, or the engine dies then restarts?
it could be the cps uvch tps codes will help

Certainly sounds like a bad CPS to me. Can you confirm what brand you're using?
Try to think back, does it only stall when it's raining? Some non-Ford cam sensors interfere with the windshield wipers as they share a grounding point, causing the truck to stall only when using the wipers.

I concur with the CPS as the first and most likely, then ICP as the second. Like Tyler said, if it is an aftermarket CPS, they have been known to get interference from the wipers. If it is not those 2, then it could be a chaffed wire grounding momentarily on the valve covers or the beginnings of a loose under valve cover harness (UVCH).
