temp delta question

I have a 2006 f250/6.0 with 165,000 miles. I just had the egr and oil cooler replaced at about 162k. All new injectors at 150k. I have a Banks 6 gun w/ IQ so I can see the oil/engine temps. I see all the time in various forums that the ideal temp delta is 5 degrees or less. With the new coolers, at operating temperature, at 70mph on flat freeway (6000' altitude, 60 degrees ambient temp) I see consistently 8-12 degrees diff. (engine 190-195 and oil 198-205). Then towing 9,000 lbs up steady grade, 8-11k altitude, 55mph I see differences of up to 25. (typically when the fan kicks on at 220 and the engine temp drops to 210 and oil stays at about 235). Is there a problem or am I just being overly concerned?

( also has Banks intake, Banks dual exhaust and Banks intercooler)

Did you flush the system with VC-9 prior to teardown?
Some experience their new oil cooler plugging up after improperly flushing.

Your deltas look good. I would expect better but anything under 15° is considered acceptable.

I assume they flushed the system. The local Ford dealer did the repair and I was charged for coolant. I deltas before the repair were 20+ on flat drive, 40 if I stressed the truck at all.
Also the oil leak I had is gone now. They said the oil was leaking past the cooler because of the blockage.

Your towing temp on a grade is not valid and the flat steady speed delta should be taken between 60 and 65 mph. Your deltas look fine to me. Once the engine is totally heat saturated the eot will always chase the ect thus deltas taken during an incline, decline or cresting are invalid. Two to three miles on flat ground and steady speed for a valid delta.

Check for sensor bias by confirming ECT and EOT are within 2*-ish of each other after the truck sits overnight. ECT moves in even 2* increments, so 2*+ bias there plus a 1*- bias on the EOT would turn an 8* delta into a 5* delta. Or just flip the sending units and see if the delta changes.
