FICM Problem

I want to thank you guys for steering me to FICMrepair.com for my FICM problem. My 2006 6.0L with 21,000 miles needed the FICM worked on and I didn't have a clue, I was lost. But with your help I sent the FICM off to Ed Stefan for repair. Ed (FICMrepair.com) is not your normal business owner. Without his help (phone calls & emails from Ed) I would not have known the real reason for the FICM failure. Ed guided me through checking out the battteries & alternators. Problem area is my driving (or lack of). I make a couple of runs to the shop (6 miles) a week, never really charging up the batteries (this FICM does not like low battery voltage) so I now keep the batteries fully charged. Without FTE's help I would have been up a creek, Thanks again guys. If you have FICM problems give Ed a call, he's one of the good guys.

Awesome, glad it worked out for you

What are you doing about the charging issue? Larger alternator, trickle charger/maintainer? Just going to watch voltage and change the batteries more often?

Thanks very much! Of course, from your username I have no idea who you are, but I am thrilled to have had the opportunity to help one more!

We had an hour-long conversation with another customer just yesterday in which it was clear that he was of the strong opinion that the 6.0 was just a piece of trash. With a bit more information in hand, he might well be a strong 6.0 supporter now!

texastech - I'm now using BatteryMinder 2012 (misc) Charger/Maintainer/Desulfator units on the batteries when the truck is not in use. Starts a lot quicker now also.
This is my first post, so god knows I've got a lot to learn.

Hello Ed... This is Noel Burley, see I do have a lot to learn. The 82f2504x4 is what I was driving when I joined. Not sure what I was thinking, guess I thought you were also a "Class A" mind reader. But, as I said before, without your help I would have been up a creek. I've still got to install the "Blue Spring Kit" I got from you. Should have it in this week. Thanks again Ed.
