My 2001 F350 XLT DRW with the 7.3 has a small toggle switch in the fuse panel almost directly under the steering wheel. It is high enough so you can't accidently trip it with you knee, but is accessible by reaching under the panel. It's a two position switch. Does anyone on here have any idea what it is for. I'm stumped.

Sounds like a valet switch for a aftermarket alarm system..

There is absolutely no way for us to know. It could be literally anything. We could guess, but thats about it. Trace the wires....
Who knows, but if the previous owner did a little reading it may be a fast idle mod. Try setting the parking brake with the engine over 60 deg for a diesel (140 for gas) and flip it.
If it was on any of my trucks through the years, it could be anything. A previous owner like me must have installed it and the only way to find out why is to trace the wires.
Things I've used hidden switches for in the past:
- fuel shut off tied to inertia switch
- brake shift interlock so I could leave engine running
- lighting & inverter relays
- delayed timer for alarm (in case someone stole my alarm key back in the day)
- accessory power
The old Diablo chips had switches like that, maybe it doesn't work or the switch was just left in to cover the hole. Or maybe a stealth mode switch where no one can see you when it's on.
