gutted CAT vs full delete sound difference!

I have been running a muffler delete with a gutted CAT for a while. I always liked the sound until you get a real heavy load on the motor. Under heavy throttle it gets awfully raspy sounding.

So... I pulled it out today and welded in a piece of 3.5" pipe. I now have a full straight pipe!

Sound difference??

Idle: It now actually has less hair dryer sound, and a little quieter whistle. However, the whistle with a gutted CAT was overwhelmed by hair dryer noise anyway.

Idle to 2k RPM. This is an improvement. Now that the hair dryer is quieter, the whistle is a little noticeable. Also, the exhaust note is deeper and more noticeable now. Sounds more like a truck with exhaust rather than a hair dryer.

2k to WOT: Again, a deeper exhaust note that is a little more noticeable, and MOST of the annoying rasp has been removed. I think a 6.0 will always have some rasp to it unless a muffler is used.

I will have to say this is an over all better sounding way to go about the catalytic converter. I will probably pull my horse trailer this weekend again, so I'll see if that is any different or not. Not looking like it will be though.
