I see now the fusible links are outboard of the green 'tag' in question.
The wire you point to needs to be connected to the charge indicator.
If 1990-f250 has the correct end I'm sure he could just solder it on.

I would probably cut one side of the connector off (truck -or- harness) side and solder on the mating connector.
Instead of soldering the wires to each other.
It will make things much easier if you ever have to remove that section of harness.

OK, that sounds like a better idea. I'll probably just match up the connectors that went with the old charging cable, that way i can be sure it will work
Do you have a lot of electrical accessory load on the truck? If not and you just weant to get it on the road just use the '90 alt and bracket for now and do a 3G upgrade later... when you know everything else works as it should.
