Tailgate question?
There is a 1986 F150 listed on Craig's List. The tailgate has the silver trim piece which covers all of the back side.
Is this the year which currently is not being reproduced?

If so, it's not a 80-86, that'd be a 87-96 style tail gate. Interchangeable, it just all depends on preference I guess. LMC is still producing them last time I checked. Not heard of them not being made anymore?

SOLD, before I got to check on it. I spoke with the seller this morning and was to go to his house when I get off work, but when I went back to Craig's list to verify the tail gate, the advertisement had been pulled. I called again and was told it was sold to the first guy who came to see it.

That's correct.
The 1985 - 1986 tailgate aluminum finish panel is not reproduced.
The 1987 - 1991 tailgate is not interchangeable with the 1985 - 1986 version unless you also change the tailgate to the later model. As you can see in the picture below, the 1980 - 1986 tailgates had the handle mounted lower than the 1987 - 1996 tailgates, and so the aluminum finish panel had a cut-out section for the handle.
