Question Cat removal

On the veh. in my sign. early '99, 7.3 it has a cat.
What would the advantages be of removing it ?
And if I do remove it will it throw any codes ?
I'm sure with over 200,000 miles it probably needs removing.
Thanks

I do not think it will throw any codes. There are MANY 7.3's running around without them from the factory. My 2003 is one of them.

Yep I would like to remove it ..
There's a listing on e bay for a removal piece, flaired on one end to fit over where you cut the cat off. The other end goes into where the cat was. Fittings c clamps and all come with it..
