engine swap or rebuild?

A friend of mine called and let me know that he found a '65 f250 that is not running (352 engine is shot) with a 3 speed, but the rest of the truck appears clean, straight and rust free (more important items than a running engine to me). The price is fairly cheep, but my question would be, would it be cheaper / quicker to just find a running 360 or 390 doner and would it swap in to the 65 truck?

Your ideas and opinions would be appreciated.

A total rebuild with stock parts, done at a machine shop will be at least 1600.00 maybe more depending on how bad the heads are. A used 360-390 will bolt right in, the cost of those would depend on the seller, and the condition of the engine.

I go with 360 or 390 motor; most will never know the difference's. Number matching doesn't apply.
